What is the cost of light gauge cold formed structural galvanized. P home of steel / sft.for 3000sft area covered?
I compare the cost of conventianal and cold formed construction.I've heard it's cheaper. I want to introduce this technology for earthquake ground area.secondly steel structure Composit walls and ceiling are cheaper though, but have less life. pl to inform expenditure, gross, to get an idea.
www.steel.org can give you a place to start, you are actually looking for what I believe is called the structural steel frames of the Alliance. Manufacturers of light-gauge steel frames including Clark and Dietrich, search of these companies also give some clues. However, I am not aware that it is galvanized, as you say. Can be continuously galvanized sheet steel, but that is not the same as hot-dip galvanizing. It really does not matter much, because the steel is behind a wall, not exposed to moisture. Finally, the cost steel structures housing is more than wood. If it were cheaper, there would be no industry alliance behind the promotion of the use. That is based on my remember, I can not point to specific documents on the cost of being a little more.
